Day 7

The Curse (What We're Up Against)

  1. Mary: I read Romans 8:20-21 but couldn't stop there. I was captivated by the image of a spiritual pregnancy and the waiting, expectant time enlarging us not diminishing us! Wow, that's what I need to hear. I've known for so long that God has more for my husband and I in the future. I could and have spoken what our calling is. It's so hard to see how we will get there though. We've been so close in the past, but it was the wrong time. Now it seems we are farther away from our calling than ever, but I know that God is enlarging us as we wait on Him and His leading so when we do walk into his full calling we will have a larger impact for HIM!

Martha: My Pantry and one of 3 cabinets that could be considered pantry cabinets are clean. The other two will have to wait. Either way it was A LOT to accomplish during nap time. Especially since Caleb didn't sleep. I feel good about it.

  2. Martha: As of 5/11 3:45pm, I have not yet cleaned or organized my pantry.

Mary: Oh, my Lord my God. I loved this like I love joy. I sat and soaked in this. Thanksgiving poured out of my spirit...

Romans 8:24 These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don't see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.

26-28 Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

    YES AND AMEN, anyone!?
